The project also celebrates its industrial heritage through the restoration and retention of two Victorian gasholder frames and by reopening a section of the Regent’s Canal that had been closed to the public for more than 150 years. Designed with sustainability at its core, the scheme delivers a 10% biodiversity net gain, extensive public green spaces, and incorporates energy-efficient systems such as air-source heat pumps, ambient loop networks, and EV charging facilities.
Our team was responsible for delivering the full scaffolding and temporary roofing package for the Regent’s View development, providing safe and efficient access for restoration and structural repairs to the original listed gasholder frame. In total, approximately 15,686 linear metres of scaffolding were installed, supported by a 1,039 square metre temporary roof structure and 20,000 square metres of shrink wrap sheeting. These systems ensured weather protection, dust control, and secure working environments for all trades, allowing works to progress safely and on schedule throughout the year.
The project presented several technical challenges, particularly in accommodating and protecting the Grade II-listed gasholder frames while maintaining access along the canal-side. Our scaffold design was carefully planned and phased to integrate with Berkeley Group’s programme and safety requirements. Close coordination with site management and other contractors was essential to maintain safe pedestrian routes, manage logistics within a constrained urban environment, and ensure full compliance with TG20:21 and NASC safety standards.
Through detailed planning and a strong collaborative approach, our scaffolding solutions played an integral role in enabling the regeneration of this historic site. The works demonstrate our capability to deliver large-scale, complex access and weather-protection systems in challenging urban locations, while supporting the preservation of heritage structures and the creation of sustainable new communities. Regent’s View stands as a testament to how innovative scaffolding design and execution can contribute to the success of one of London’s most significant regeneration schemes.
