Tough Mudder team raises over £7,000 for charity
17 June 2013
GKR recently teamed up with Mace to raise money for MACs Children Charity by taking part in Tough Mudder, the 12-mile hardcore obstacle course designed by British Special Forces.
The team raised over £7,000 for MACs Children Charity. The UK’s national charity for children born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes. MACs support families of children born with Microphthalmia, (small eyes), Anophthalmia (no eyes) and/or Coloboma (cleft of the eye). Their services are accessed by around 800 families around the UK and further afield.
Neil Rowswell, GKR Managing Director, who was part of the team commented: “What a fantastic achievement to raise so much money for a good cause. All the training has really paid off. It’s been a great collaboration with one of our clients.”
The Tough Mudder team run through mud, fire, ice-water and 10,000 volts of electricity to help raise awareness of the issue and to raise funds for the charity. GKR project manager Stef Bober said: “I am proud to say that I completed the course with every one of you today. We’re now Tough Mudders’.” Mace’s senior project manager Alasdair Colquhoun added: “It’s been great to run with you all – bring on the next one.”
