GKR Provides 1080m2 Beamed Platform

GKR are currently working with ISG on a large office refurbishment project at Bedfont Lakes in Hounslow which will see the existing floor spaced increased by double with the in-fill of the existing atrium.

In order to complete this, GKR are building a bridged atrium deck scaffold some 54m long x 20 m wide giving ISG 1080m2 of boarded platform to remove the glass roof whilst the piling is commenced below

The platform is supported by 54m long support scaffolds being built off of the 2nd floor together with back propping installed from the 1st floor to the underside of the 2nd floor

As the beams are installed they are spurred back down to the base of the support scaffold and tied back in to the two further lifts. This is the only connection to the beams as they have to be able to move due to the deflection and every line of standards has an Excalibur foot tie installed to a depth of 75mm with total.

Currently, the fifth of nine bridged bays are being installed with the first 3no.being overlaid with 1000 gauge plastic membrane and hardboard.
