GKR achieve 500,000 hours without a RIDDOR
As GKR Scaffolding Limited continues to grow and work on some of the most prestigious and challenging projects across London the project team has achieved an outstanding half a million hours without incurring a RIDDOR accident.
Keeping everyone safe on sites is paramount for leading scaffolding company GKR. A tough task across 60 projects in the UK, but GKR has again risen to the challenge and is continuing to push the message to their 275 workers on sites.
Lee Rowswell, GKR Managing Director said: “This is an outstanding achievement and is down to the dedication and hard work put in by everyone involved. We are committed to delivering all our projects to the highest standards in safety and quality and will continue to do so. Safety is always our number one priority – so a huge well done to everyone involved.”
In January 2014, GKR Academy opened as the first of its kind in the industry, the academy focuses solely on improving the performance of GKR employees giving them a clear career path, sharing knowledge and expertise by providing a robust and collaborative learning environment aimed at achieving excellence, establishing the highest standards and improving the way the industry operatives. GKR’s last reportable accident was in February 2014 over 18.5 months ago.
Peter Cullen, Health and Safety Manager said: “Investing in our people is clearly the right thing to do. Our people are our future and at GKR we want to be creating leaders of the industry with the right skill-set, behaviours and approach, to delivering the highest standards safely.”
This year, GKR has been working on numerous high profile projects with complex scaffold solution projects including Bloomberg’s new headquarters, South Bank Tower, BskyB campus, Principle Place, HSBC Building and Angel Court.
